Introduction

Against capitalism, currently, only the socialist method exists. But even in this case, it’s not quite clear if there’s any country with socialism by the book. We will have to make-do with the classical examples of countries that were considered “socialist” – The Soviet Union, China, and their like. In these cases, too, several structural flaws can be identified:

Dictatorship

The former Soviet Union, China, North Korea, Cuba, Cambodia – all had become dictatorships. Except Cuba, in all of them, mass killings took place. Is dictatorship and murder necessary for socialism to exist? Save the case of Chile, with Salvador Allende, communist states were formed through revolution, rather than democratic means. One could say that the wider the central planning is, and the more the state is involved, the personal autonomy of the citizen shrinks.

Shortage

One of the characteristics of communist economies is the shortage of products. Democratic\capitalist state had never suffered famines like the ones in China or the Soviet Union. Centralized planning will always suffer from a lack of data, which will bring the central plan to failure in supplying the market with products.
